Our Employment Law Service
Our employment law service is conducted by a specialist Employment Law Solicitor who has been working in this field since January 2013. The aim is to deliver a seamless service from initial consultation to representation (written or oral) where relevant.
We appreciate the anxiety that many people experience in the workplace, whether they are a business owner or worker/employee. Both businesses and workers suffer when there is disharmony in their place of work. Disharmony could adversely affect a business whether it is the worker directly or the management.
Our services include, but is not limited to:
- Settlement agreements (drafting or advising on)
- Unfair dismissals
- Unlawful discrimination contrary to the Equality Act 2010
- Contracts of employment
- Employment law status
- Submission of claims/response – ET1 and ET3
- Completion of and preparation for Case Management Hearings
- Conducting litigation and settling ongoing claims
- Advice on risk of costs
We also offer (where possible), in-house tribunal representation which keeps costs down for our clients.
Fees
We charge an hourly rate of between £150 - £250 per hour for most of the work undertaken. How long each matter takes depends on the complexity of the matter presented and the extent of considering any relevant documents as part of the case.
Fixed fee arrangements or, instructing us on one-off aspects of a matter is also part of our service.
In order to keep initial fees as low as possible, we recommend that prospective clients prepare ahead of any meetings or consultations.
Time can be reduced considerably by:
- Creating a timeline of any key events (including dates & names) – chronology
- Organising ahead of the meeting, any key documents: payslips, grievances, letters to and from employees/managers, policies, occupational health reports etc.
- Having an understanding of what you want to discuss
- Language barriers (if applicable)
- We advise: Employers / Employees/ Workers / Freelancers etc
People with union membership may already have access to free legal advice and representation and are advised to explore this avenue of expertise prior to seeking independent sources.
Prospective clients with legal expenses insurance cover may also already be covered for legal advice and representation and therefore should first explore this avenue before looking to the private sector.
At the present time we do not offer no-win no-fee services for employment law.
